The wearing parts of the Screw Press are fundamental to the success of the pressing operation. Correct selection of materials, tight control of manufacturing procedures and correct Worm Assembly design are all essential for optimum plant performance. Worn parts adversely effect the Presses performance even if all other process parameters are correct. We believe there is more to supplying
parts than merely machining pieces of metal. Therefore, |

Producing cost effective wearing parts for our own and competitors machines is the core of our business. We can supply the full range of parts for our own Presses ranging from Shims and Spacers to a Cage or Gearbox castings. We not only support our current Press range but also all our old machines. Our drawing records go back to the early part of the last century.
We manufacture parts in a range of materials to suit all applications, From our extremely hard wearing Goldstar material through conventional Welded products to Case Hardened components. The correct choice of material will dependant on both the product to be processed and the throughput of the plant.

Wearing Parts are the core of the parts business and in addition to servicing our own Presses we can offer and extensive rage of parts for other manufactures Presses. Press types we have supplied parts for include:
|
Our in house design capability allows us to modify Worm Assembly profiles to improve performance and extend the wear life of parts. This analytical design philosophy can be extended to both our own Presses and in those of other manufactures.
|
Our own expertise in materials and design methods is complimented by research carried out in conjunction with Academic Institutions to maintain De Smet Rosedowns at the forefront of Worm Assembly Design. Much work has been done to explore the relationship between part geometry and process material properties. The objective being to refine and develop computer models used to help assess Worm Assembly designs before we ever cut metal.

Today much of our work is in improving press performance and life of parts. One example of which is the Patented Rosie-D Conversion that we can offer for the Dupps type of Presses. <Click> Here to Learn More.

In recent years a major part of our research effort has been devoted to the investigation of wear mechanisms on parts and the material properties that will best withstand the wear. One important factor to emerge from the work is the importance of tight control of the manufacturing process. For example, variations in the welding conditions can dramatically effect the wear life of a particular Hard Facing Material. Only by devoting time and effort into metallurgical studies can these factors be identified and controlled. |

To allow our clients to benefit from
our superior technology we have a stocking policy which involves location and
control of stocks in several key locations world-wide, as well as here in Hull
at our own works. |
We can also offer to strip a full shaft and repair or replace the parts on the shaft before returning the fully assembled shaft back to our customers site. Presently we have two centres that can operate this service. In Europe from our own site in Hull. and in the United Sates from our Service Partner the Jenkins Centrifuge Company

Above all, We offer a service not just Parts.
