De Smet Rosedowns has over 100 years of experience in the design, manufacture and supply of equipment for the mechanical extraction of vegetable oil. As well as supplying the equipment that we manufacture we can supply a full engineering service to a client wishing to build a new mill. This can include Equipment Specification and Sourcing, Design and Layout work and even full Turnkey project execution in conjunction with our sister companies in the De Smet Group
All oil mills are designed to the particular requirements of the client. In addition to the equipment De Smet Rosedowns will supply a full set of engineering drawings and offer the services of erection and commissioning engineers.
From a Simple Mini Mill
Designed around our Mini Presses, we can supply a small Mini Mill able to take in raw seed and produce a Crude filtered Oil and Press Cake. Although small and simple these plants can produce residuals comparable with large conventional plants.
Typically the Mini Mill will include a feed bin, variable speed feeders, Presses, an oil screening tank and a filter. Together with the required conveyors, pumps, fittings and instrumentation.
These Mills are designed to be flexible enough to handle a range of different seeds, can be operated by a single person and are the economic way to set up a small extraction facility.

We also have a lot of experience in putting together the larger plants, Throughout the world can be found Pre-Press and Solvent extraction plants that we have designed and built. We do not manufacture everything ourselves but rather will bring the best of Group products and other third party supplied equipment to put together a complete mill.
The service we will offer depends on your experience and requirements, it may be simply a Process specification or a flow diagram. On the other hand with our colleagues in the Group we can do a complete "Turn Key" design and build project for you.
