Not all Presses will have a Primary Cage. However
they are frequently used on longer Presses as a means of keeping the
main Cage to a more manageable size for maintenance operations.
A Primary Cage should be located at the Feed End of the
Press where Pressures are low so as not to experience leakage problems
in the transition to the main Cage.
As with the main Cage the drained barrel will be made
up of Lining Bars and Spacers clamped into the Cage and all parts in
contact with the feed material should be replaceable |
