The Cage forms the drained Barrel of the Press. For
rigidity the high pressure section should be a one piece casting. When
closed the Cage should lock firmly to the Frame, to prevent it from
moving relative to the Frame.
To form the Drained Barrel the Casting is lined with Lining Bars separated
by Spacers. The size of the Spacers can be altered to increase or
decrease the Drainage Gaps.
The Lining Bars are a wearing Part so a simple but effective clamping
system is need to hold them in place. Preferably each field of bars should
be separately clamped so that it can be changed without disturbing neighboring
fields.
The Design of the Lining Bar is Important, a well defined 'saw tooth'
on the top face can reduce footing and a Bar that is inherently stable
with a wide bottom and machined drainage is much easier to use when
lining the Cage than a simpler geometry Bar |
